Will PC Satellite TV Video Be Crisp and Clear?

Although PC satellite TV is steadily gaining popularity, there are still those who are holding out and 'waiting to see' how others find it before they come to a decision. Chief amongst their worries is the fact that the video quality may very well end up being inferior to that offered up by satellite TV and cable TV - but the truth is that PC satellite TV can be just as crisp and clear as these other two sources of video.

Basically, the quality of video depends mostly on its resolution. There are other factors at play, but the main culprit for inferior quality video is low resolution transmissions. A few years ago when people were still on slower connections, video that was transmitted via the internet was generally at a lower resolution than standard TV transmissions due to the fact that higher resolution video had larger file sizes and thus took longer to load and transmit.

Nowadays however, that worry is a thing of the past. With the rise of broadband and other high speed internet connections, video can be trasmitted across the internet at high resolutions with relatively little worry. As a testament to this fact, several PC satellite TV stations actually transmit their content in High Definition (HD) which is 'as good as it gets' when it comes to video quality.

Admittedly, there are still many PC satellite TV channels (in particular those from foreign countries) that end up coming in at lower resolutions, but slowly and surely the trend is to upgrade to higher and higher resolutions. Those transmissions that are still in lower resolutions are problematic however, because if you were to enlarge them to full-screen you'd find the quality to be pathetic at best. On the other hand, leaving them in a smaller window would make your TV viewing experience rather awful too.

For regular TV viewing purposes with popular channels that are in HD or high resolution, you should notice no difference in quality between your PC satellite TV and your cable TV. Granted, there are exceptions to this rule but you should find that most of the channels on your PC satellite TV are at least of viewable condition, with some actually being better than you expected.

End of the day, PC satellite TV is not without its flaws, but it is steadily overcoming them and this particular flaw seems to be one of the first to go. In time, as more and more TV stations migrate to HD it may even gradually disappear altogether. Of course, this will also mean that those who are running slower internet connections may face other problems - but it is the price that must be paid.

Go ahead and try out some of the free PC satellite TV stations for yourself and see just how clear the quality of video can be!
